MetaFork in the Road is a 30-foot-tall, 4,500-pound steel sculpture created by House of Fabl and artist Hunter Leggitt for Burning Man 2022. A playful yet profound monument to decision-making, the piece embodies the classic metaphor of reaching a pivotal fork in the road — when a choice between two paths must be made.

Viewers are invited to walk up, around, and through the sculpture, engaging with it as both a literal and symbolic crossroads. MetaFork blends whimsy with reflection, asking each passerby: which way will you go?

After its debut at Burning Man, the sculpture was permanently installed at Tesla’s Giga Factory in Austin, Texas, where it now welcomes visitors with a quiet challenge — and a subtle grin.

Limited edition reproductions of MetaFork in the Road are now available by commission for public, private, or institutional installation.

I love the inverse poetry of making metaphors literal. There is a giant 30ft (literal) fork in the road outside the Auto Pilot office in Palo Alto.
