"Unlocking the Mysteries" drone show at Burning Man 2023 presents an immersive sky story, diving deep into the profound significance of the women-led Eleusinian Mystery cult and the sacred rituals held annually at the Temple of Eleusis. These rituals spanned over 1,200 years, marking both the Greek and Roman empires. This captivating tale illuminates their role as a spiritual heart of ancient civilization and suggests their promising influence on humanity's future.

Story concept and design by House of Fābl and in collaboration with Christiana Musk and Brian Muraresku, the drone show weaves a compelling narrative, underscored by a custom composition from musical artist Boreta.

UNLOCKING THE MYSTERIES

Burning Man 2023
1,000 Drones

The Drone Sky Story unfolds in two distinct parts:

PART ONE ushers the audience into the dim recesses of history, vividly resurrecting the secret practices that once defined the cultural foundations of two grand ancient empires. It artistically guides the audience through a sequence of the pilgrimage, the initiation, the ritual, and the magnificent rise of an empire, only to depict its tragic collapse into oblivion.

PART TWO stands in stark contrast, artistically portraying humanity's fall from the divine into a mechanized, unsustainable existence, bereft of the age-old wisdom that once guided us. Yet, the narrative evolves to reveal a glimmer of hope. Through modern exploration and understanding, the Mysteries are now unraveled, and within them lies a key to a future filled with potential and enlightenment.
